(*1) The Union shall inform the other parties to those agreements that the United Kingdom is treated as a Member State for the purposes of those agreements during the transitional period. 6. The border between the Eastern Sovereign Sovereignty Area and the territories of the Republic of Cyprus in which the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control shall be treated as forming part of the external borders of the Sovereign Control Areas for the purposes of this Article for the duration of the suspension of the application of the acquis referred to in Article 1 of Protocol No 10. This border can only be crossed at the border crossings of Strovilia and Pergamon. With the prior consent and in cooperation with the authorities of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Cyprus may take further measures to combat illegal immigration of persons who have crossed this border. This paragraph shall apply until an agreement referred to in Article 184 replacing this paragraph enters into force or becomes applicable.
